RegaaS reviews labels for food, dietary supplements and cosmetics sold in the United States, and for food, food supplements and cosmetics sold in the European Union. Where a product sold in the United States is both a cosmetic and an over-the-counter drug, such as a sunscreen or an anti-dandruff shampoo, RegaaS reviews the cosmetic labeling requirements. The Drug Facts panel and the applicable OTC monograph requirements fall outside the review.
In the United States, RegaaS does not cover meat, poultry and egg products under USDA jurisdiction, alcoholic beverages regulated by TTB, USDA organic and bioengineered food disclosures, customs origin-marking rules for cosmetics, FTC advertising rules (claims printed on the label, such as environmental claims, are flagged, but the testing, certifications or other evidence behind them is not verified), or state requirements such as California Proposition 65 and state variations from NIST Handbook 130. In either market, the service reviews labeling only, and does not assess manufacturing or facility compliance.
